Inga began her career as an occupational therapist working with children and families and became a specialist in neonatal neurodevelopment while working at Imperial College NHS Trust, London. She is a senior NIDCAP trainer and the primary author of the Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education (FINE) 1 programme which is now a collaborative project with the Erasmus Centre in Rotterdam.
She has been actively involved with international research 2-5 and education networks and has a particular interest in stress and pain management in the neonatal unit 5-7, including development of a scale (EVIN) 8 for evaluating the quality of care given to infants during medical and nursing procedures. She has co-authored a popular book for parents 9.
She is a currently affiliated with the UK NIDCAP Centre at University College London Hospital, and Bliss (the UK charity for supporting infants and families in neonatal units) and is working with NIDCAP Centres around the world to establish FINE, which has been translated into 7 languages with training activity in 15 countries. She has just been awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists.
