Neonatal Research Nurse
Salary Range: Agenda for Change Pay Band 6: £25,472 - £34,189 plus 20% Inner London Allowance (max £6,217) per annum
Applications are invited for a Research Nurse to work with Professor Neena Modi and the neonatal research team based at the Chelsea & Westminster campus of the Department of Medicine on the Medicines for Neonates research programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research. The successful candidate will support neonatal unit staff primarily within the London area to improve the quality of electronic data captured in the course of neonatal care in order to facilitate clinical trials, health services research and neonatal services.
This post offers exemplary opportunities for career development for a highly motivated Band 5/6 qualified children’s NICU/PICU/CICU nurse within a vibrant research environment at a premiere UK research institution. Previous research experience is not essential; however an understanding of the research process is desired. Successful candidates will be supported through the London & South East Medicines for Children Research Network (MCRN) training and development programme. This implements the RCN competency framework for clinical research nurses and includes opportunity to maintain clinical skills with support from an experienced MCRN senior research nurse. The MCRN is part of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR).
You will be expected to play a full and active role in the academic life of the Department of Medicine. This is a fixed term post but part-time applicants and applicants on secondment are welcome and encouraged to apply. An honorary clinical contract will be held with Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust and other Trusts as required.
