The Neonatal Nurse of the Year award will be awarded to an inspirational neonatal nurse who has made an extraordinary difference to the lives of the infants and families in their care.

Candidates who are nominated will be assessed by members of the NNA and external representatives.

Inclusion criteria may reflect one of the following:

 

Development or leadership of……..

 

1. A project or initiative for service improvement

2. An innovation that has made a difference to practice

3. A project or initiative where the nominee has gone over and above their normal role.

PRIZE: £1000 first prize, £500 second prize

Nominees can either apply personally or be nominated by their line manager / colleagues / parents. All applications must include rationale behind why the candidate should be awarded this prestigious award. The prize for the winning application will be £1000 to be used to implement something to impact on practice or for education or travel associated with this, as well as a year’s membership with the NNA. The winner will be announced and awarded on the 22nd of November at the NNA National Conference, and will be asked to write a small article on their achievements for the Journal of Neonatal Nursing and present at the next conference.
